Happy Valley - 13/03/24

Back to HV with a good mix of class and distance tracks actually looks a great card for horse racing fans! hope to find a few winners along the way.

R1 - AP Lei Chau - 1000M - C5

9 - Goodmanship - Karis Teetan

2 - Happy Horse - Ellis Wong

Goodmanship has had two cracks at 1000M both decent runs he made a dash for a 2nd place finish and last start at this distance came in 7th but was held up in some traffic after falling too far back, has a chance again today where he has battled with some of the field already. Doesn't like to challenge for the lead but if he sits off the lead by 3/4 lengths and gets some clear air on the bend could just win it here.

3 - Beauty Infinity - Zac Purton - Best Bet

After his deserving and dominate win in Class 4 company last start goes up in grade and down in weight, should prove to be right in this race as well got a good jump out and some honest late speed. Best bet for the card.

12 - Foxhunter Way - Matthew Poon

Something about Matthew Poon at the lightest weighted horse in the race from the inside barrier has me attracted to the chances Foxhunter Way has in this one. The Francis Lui 6yo with only one win to his name in Hong Kong has a chance here.

8 - Valhalla - Keegan De Melo

Yet to grab a Class 4 win this term you would have to make a case for this race being his ultimate chance at it, with an improved draw than his 3rd place finish last start and a slight experience gap on the field. I think now or never for his C4 win is this race right here. Happy to be on him for the chance.

With a nail biter of a finish last start in C5 comes back to Class 4 with the best draw he has ever had, definitely is a Class 4 horse and has every opportunity to go back to back under Matthew Chadwick.

1 - Raging Blizzard - Zac Purton - Next Best

Its hard to not like the favorite in this race, Raging Blizzard is literally raging through the ranks in Hong Kong only concern would be his weight here and if he can keep it up again after his 2 1/2 length win last start. The likes of Sugar Sugar and Watch Buddy also have the same weight issue having never won with what they weigh tonight. Going to be an epic race and might only be won by slim margins. Next Best for me on the horses merit.

6 - Mr Aladdin - Karis Teetan

First time this horse has featured in my selections, have been keeping an eye on him as I have seen a few people select him in previous starts, does back in distance to 1650 where his last start ended in a 5th position finish. Gets a good draw here tonight and a not so quality rich field like his last two starts at the distance. Karis Teetan seems to be very keen to get the maidan on this one and it can be done tonight.

Purely a selection on this horses talent vs the field, looks extremely hard to beat but that's not to say it wont happen.

7 - Bon's A Pearla - Alexis Badel

9 - Copartner Ambition - Harry Bentley

Tomodachi Kokoroe is just flying right now securing G1 success last start in very good fashion, comes in here lighter than i expected to be honest and is setup to really challenge for the C2 victory here. I do have my doubts and have Bon's A Pearla and Copartner Ambition in as a safety that may just upset him tonight. But a great race to finish the card excited for this one!
