Happy Valley - 21/02/24

Nine races on the turf as we head back to Happy Valley some good horses on display tonight lets get stuck into it!

R1 - Wang Tak Handicap - 1200M - C4

11 - Harmony N Home - Alexis Badel

12 - Beau Gosse - Keith Yeung

We kick off the night with a Class 4 and two horses who are knocking on the door for a win right now Harmony N Home comes in with a huge weight claim and Alexis Badel steering him with that gives me confidence tonight could be the night. Beau Gosse who featured in my selections last start gets barrier 2 again and looks ready also for a win, I couldn't split them so they both go in tonight.

4 - Dancing Code - Karis Teetan - Best Bet

Can forgive his last start at the 1600M where he drew barrier 12 and never really got into the race also a strong Class 2 field on the day as well. Surprisingly the horse is undefeated at Happy Valley both wins only at this track. Looking at him to continue that tonight, it would seem Casper Fownes has been working on getting him out to a longer distance race and puts it all on the line to stay undefeated here.

8 - Hercules - Alexis Badel - Next Best

Hard to ignore this horse going up in grade and getting a nice weight claim along with it as well, his last visit to Class 4 company he drew a nasty wide gate and finished dead last progressed well from their and notched up a great win last start and can see him continue that into this race tonight.

8 - Tomodachi Kokoroe - Karis Teetan

2 - Adios - Matthew Poon

Two selections here as Tomodachi Kokoroe has the pleasure of keeping Karis Teetan on and swings to the lightest weighted horse of the field, granted he has jumped from C3 into C1 he is a great looking horse and a consistent performer and has every chance to claim victory here. Adios has been on a spell since the 23/10/23 and comes in first up here another horse I have been a fan of and may just surprise us all with a good first up victory.

R5 - Yuk Sau Handicap - 1800M - C4

10 - Kyrus Unicorn - Andrea Atzeni - Each Way

This grey is on the brink of getting another win this prep and was impressive last start running in 4th making up ground from being 12L off the lead at the 700M. Andrea Atzeni gets the reigns again here and I'm all for it, if we see him settle a lot closer to the lead this time around and coming back to the 1800M suits this horses back marker style.

5 - Galvanic - Karis Teetan

Although winless in 12 starts I think he has his best chance this time around to break the maidan against this field. Satirical Glory does seem the one to beat but the likes of Win Win Fighter and Noble Win will be the ones to look out for. Galvanic for me here to get that win and put it to the field should get a nice rail run here with Karis the master of it.

5 - Winning Dragon - Brenton Avdulla - Each Way

The first Class 3 of the card comes late in the night and my E/W play for this race solely lands on Brenton Avdulla who as we have seen hits his stride in Hong Kong late in the cards and Winning Dragon who has been pretty consistent in his placings in C3 has a chance here from barrier 3 to get the win.

3 - Copartner Ambition - Andrea Atzeni

Im sure Andrea Atzeni is extremely excited to be back on this horse, an amazing talent this one and even may start at a good $3+ for good betting value. Cant seem to find anything that will beat him here. But we all know that isnt the case all the time either.

R9 - King Kwong Handicap - 1000M - C3

5 - Happy United - Brenton Avdulla

Another race I found it extremely hard to see who will get the fav beat here, was very good last start and relishes the challenge of the 1000M. Cant look beyond him here but will also cover myself in the Quaddie incase he gets rolled.
